Let Us Give Thanks and Praise!

Scripture readings:

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!

Know the Lord is God!
It is he that made us and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him, bless his name!

For the Lord is good:
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

(Psalms 100)

Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, Rejoice. Let all know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand. Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-9)

Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

What are your thanks and praises?

I must say that I am thankful that we have an internet. Everytime I start to feel alone as a GLBT Christian, I can surf the net and find a bond with my GLBT sisters and brothers in Christ.

I am especially thankful for online resources like Whosoever.

I would like to say to anyone who is discouraged about finding a life-partner: Pray and wait on God! It may sound like a cliche – that’s what I always thought when someone said it. I am a 42 year old lesbian who was becoming discouraged about finding that special person. I wanted to find a Christian woman who didn’t have problems with drugs or alcohol, who was capable of a lifetime commitment and serious about her spiritual life. I realize not everyone is looking for just that, but I was.

I was seeing a woman who was not a Christian and, although I really thought I cared about her, I knew in my heart that the Lord was telling me it wasn’t right for me. The amazing thing is that, after a year of wrestling with God over this, I finally gave in and broke up with her. Within a month I met the most wonderful woman at church! She’s everything I was looking for and more and we are now planning our life together. There is no doubt in my mind that it was the Lord’s doing.
