Surely My Cup Runneth Over

by: Joan Christian

Jesus is...

The joy of my heart

The light of my life

The bright and morning star

My highest and best hope

The peace in my soul and

The praise in my mouth

There is none like Him

When I am down with the

cares of the world, feeling empty, or unloved

I turn to Jesus

He is my love, my comfort, my strength

an ever present help in the time of trouble

Though the world may turn it's back on me,

or toss me out a castaway

Jesus never fails

and keeps his promises

Yea I will never leave you, nor forsake you,

Yea, I am with you always, even to the end of the world

When I am overwhelmed, tired and weary,

When I just don't know if I can go on,

I turn to Jesus,

My kindest most loving friend

And snuggle down, pull the blankets up

around me, and talk to Jesus

for hours

He listens, responds

and I am comforted, refreshed, lifted up

And I go on my way again

There is none like Him,

No not one

When I have mountains to climb

and the climb is too steep for me

and my strength is gone

I cry out to Jesus

He comes quickly,

leaping lightly over all the bolders, obstacles and sharp

jagged edges

I have left in his way,

and embraces my wounded spirit in his strong arms of love

Till I am fit for the climb again

Filled with new power, higher praise,

deeper love,

...And mountains are moved

I can do all things through Christ which streghtens me

Yea thought I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.

He is my glorious Lord

My dearest friend

My closest companion

My deepest love

The Saviour of my soul

The very center of my being

and heart

Alleluia!

Alleluia!

Alleluia!
