Verses of Hope

For Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Christians

One of the most potent weapons the Religious Right has to use against gays, lesbians and bisexuals is The Bible. They pull the so called "clobber" passages out to condemn us at every turn. But, the Bible contains many passages of hope for gays, lesbians and bisexuals. These are verses that help us in times of trouble, that prove to us that God loves us and is with us, always. Do you have a favorite verse that is not here? Send it to me and I'll add it.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He (She) who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel..." --Isaiah 43: 2-3a

"For thou didst form my inward parts, thou didst knit me together in my mother's womb.I praise thee, for thou art fearful and wonderful.Wonderful are thy works! thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?

Faint; and to them that have no
Might he increaseth strength.

upon the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up
with wings as eagles; they shall
run, and not be weary; they
shall walk, and not faint.
