Our Mission

Whosoever exists to help LGBTQ+ people experience and explore Christian faith free from fear, guilt and shame — and to proclaim the good news of a God whose love for us is unconditional, boundless and rooted in grace.

We publish thoughtful, engaging and sometimes challenging perspectives on scripture, faith, culture and the church, centered on the lives and experiences of LGBTQ+ people. Through diverse voices and lived experiences, we seek to help our readers deepen their faith, question what they have been taught, heal from spiritual harm and discover what it means to live fully and authentically as the people God created them to be.

Our Vision

We envision a world in which no LGBTQ+ person believes they must choose between who they are and a life of faith.

We seek a Christianity in which LGBTQ+ people are not merely welcomed or tolerated, but recognized as beloved, spiritually gifted participants in the life of the church and the ongoing story of faith.

And we envision Whosoever as a place where LGBTQ+ people and their allies can encounter ideas, stories and perspectives that deepen faith, encourage curiosity, challenge harmful theology and remind us that none of us is alone on the journey.

Our Values

Faith belongs to the individual. Every person has the freedom to pursue their own faith journey. No person or institution should define, control, mediate or disrupt someone else’s relationship with their Creator.

Grace, not shame. Whosoever rejects fear-, guilt- and shame-based religion and embraces the understanding that human beings begin from a place of original blessing rather than original sin.

Radical inclusion. Following the example of Jesus, we embrace an infinitely expansive understanding of God that chooses inclusion over exclusion. Our view of Christianity means Jesus’ table is open to everyone without asking them about the religion they identify with.

No spiritual violence. We oppose attempts to use religion, scripture, doctrine or religious authority to disrupt or damage another person’s relationship with their Higher Power.
